Deciding between cremation and burial options can be a difficult choice. Choosing a burial service may simply mean selecting a beautiful resting place in a cemetery and providing a place to go to remember and grieve the person we lost. Cemetery services may also include a graveside service and memorial headstone.

The reasons for choosing cremation are unique and varied as those selecting this option and can be based on religious beliefs or even environmental and land usage. For many, it’s a simplified experience and sometimes an alternative to a traditional funeral.

Whanau Burial & Cremation Package

This is the package to choose from if you would like a traditional funeral service with either burial or cremation. There is an option for private viewings with an open casket, or taking your loved one to a home, church, marae or another venue prior to the funeral service.
Professional service fee including arrangement of all documentation, and receiving instruction
Transfer to our premises
Mortuary care including embalming or sanitary treatment in preparation for dressing and viewing
Standard sized fully trimmed and furnished Casket
Transfer to another venue (if required)
Funeral attendant and transfer for burial or cremation
Attending to all appropriate and legal documentation
Online funeral notice
Registration of death certificate

This Package requires a $3000 Deposit is required upfront
All package payments are to be paid in full in 14 days
The hearse transfers included in the package are within 50km of our premises and will incur an extra cost if outside this area
Extra costs are incurred for services requested outside of those listed
Cremation or public cemetery burial fees are not included in the funeral package
Embalming required over a standard size will incur an extra cost
Caskets required above a standard size or of a design not included in the package will incur an extra cost
After-hours fees of $650 are applicable for after-hours 5 pm-7 am, weekends and public holidays
Cremation and public cemetery fees are required before the funeral service day
Prices are subject to change. This includes increases in material costs, cremation & burial fees.

Direct Cremation

This is the package to choose if you are wanting a cremation only. Alternatively a memorial service could be scheduled at a later time. This package includes no viewings.
Professional service fee including, arrangement of all necessary documentation, and receiving instruction
Hearse transportation to our premises
Cremation liner, standard-size
Transportation to the crematorium for cremation
Returning of ashes to the family
Online funeral notice
Registration of death certificate
Attending to all appropriate and legal documentation

Any liner required above a standard size will incur an extra cost.

The Kahungunu Funeral Package entitles all registered Ngāti Kahungunu Iwi Card Members a 10% discount off our services
Professional service fee, including arrangement of all necessary documentation, and receiving instruction
Transportation of tūpāpaku to our premises
Mortuary care including embalming or sanitary treatment in preparation for dressing and viewing
Standard sized fully trimmed and furnished Casket
Transfer to home, marae or to another venue
Funeral attendant and hearse transportation for burial or cremation
Online funeral pānui
Registration of death certificate
Attending to all appropriate and legal documentation
