With heavy hearts we let whānau know of the passing of our Tene.

The challenger when we are trying to let things slide

The investigator when we are trying to be undercover

The level headed one that won't let things go and will take any one of us on no holds barred

The guy with the biggest smile and dorkiest sense of humour

Matene will arrive at Pukemokimoki Marae tonight - Thursday 08/02/2024.

Matene will lay at Pukemokimoki until Saturday 10/02/2024.

Saturday 10/02/2024 we will have a 9am service and make our way with Matene to Ūkaipō Marae in Te Poi, Matamata where our man will lie for one night.

Sunday 11/02/2024 at 11am, a final service will be held at Ūkaipō Marae.

We will then lay Matene to rest with his beloved sister Aroz and the rest of his adoring whānau.

We’re not ready to say goodbye yet, so all we’ll say is we love you.
